From € 1500 you can have a unique, bespoke jewel made.

Every jewel designed personally for you can be an ash jewel, with a small amount of ashes placed beneath a gemstone, with or without a personal engraving. Ask the funeral director for a separate tube of ashes so that we can incorporate them and you feel eternally connected to your loved one.

Only the most beautiful and purest stones are selected with the greatest care.

Allow around four to six weeks after approval of the design.

Although 24 carat gold is beautiful, it is too soft to be durable for everyday wear. Mixing gold with other metals creates a stronger and more wear-resistant material. 18 carat gold is perfectly balanced: it keeps the luxurious appearance of gold, but is sturdy enough for jewellery that lasts for generations. 18 carat gold also contains fewer alloy metals, which makes allergic reactions less likely. That makes it a safe and comfortable choice for people with sensitive skin.

The good news is that you can clean your jewellery at home with a few simple steps. Do be careful, especially with delicate or porous gemstones such as opal or emerald.

What you need

• Warm water
• Mild washing-up liquid without harsh chemicals
• A soft toothbrush
• A soft, lint-free cloth

Step by step

1. Make a soapy bath: mix warm water with a small amount of mild soap in a bowl. Make sure the water is not too hot, as this can damage some gemstones.
2. Let the piece soak: leave your jewel in the soapy water for 5 to 10 minutes to loosen dirt and grease. Very dirty? Let it soak overnight and clean it the next day.
3. Brush gently: use an old soft toothbrush to brush the dirt away carefully. Pay extra attention to corners and edges on the inside where dirt collects.
4. Rinse thoroughly: rinse your jewel under lukewarm water to remove soap residue.
5. Dry and polish: pat the piece dry with a soft cloth and polish it gently to restore the shine.

Extra tips for specific gemstones

• Porous stones (such as opal or turquoise): do not use soap and clean them only with a slightly damp cloth, as they are sensitive to water.
• Harder stones (such as diamond or sapphire): these can handle a more thorough cleaning, but still avoid harsh cleaning agents.
• Organic materials (such as pearls): avoid water and chemical products entirely; polish them with a soft cloth only.

What to watch out for

• Harsh chemicals: never use cleaning agents containing ammonia, bleach or alcohol. These can damage gemstones.
• Ultrasonic cleaners: these can be too aggressive for some stones, such as emerald or ruby.
• Brushing hard: this can damage the metal setting or the stone.
